Abstract :
This paper describes the characteristics and performance of a burst-mode 16 QAM receiver. Circuit implementations and control algorithms are presented with an emphasis on burst-mode phase acquisition, automatic gain control, and data decision. Measurement results show a typical receiving sensitivity of -60 dBm, a dynamic range of 22 dB and a run-in time of 2 μs
