Abstract :
The page views of domestic advertising sites are one of the largest after social networking and online newspaper sites. Basically, we can make a distinction between two main types of measurement. One of them is the so-called -newspaper type” website where articles stay in the database in perpetuity. The system never deletes the users-data. The other type is called-advertising type” website where the system deletes expired ad and all related user-data. In this paper the “advertising type” of websites is considered. Web analytics is a process through which statistics about website usage and user behaviors are gathered. Such an analytics program can be used as a tool to get information about users, who they are, where they are coming from, how often they are visiting a website and how much time do they spend on a website. In this paper we show how to calculate the number of userdata records generated in the database per day and total from system startup in general. In addition, we use a detailed user-data database of a small classifieds website to illustrate the utility of models.
