  • Abstract
A new hardware algorithm for computing object centers has been developed. This algorithm is simple and fast, and it is easy to implement with software or hardware. A VLSI hardware implementation is presented and a VLSI chip of this algorithm has been fabricated. The test results show that the circuit can determine the center of an object within less than 200 ns for 32-bit inputs
