Abstract
An anticipation system based on a microcomputer is described. The purpose of the system is to anticipate the electrical breakdown of magnet relays installed in nuclear facilities. Partial discharge (PD) current is detected as a means of anticipating the breakdown. PD current is recognized as a pulse train having variable pulse height and occurrence time. Out of the PD pulse train, one obtained information such as count rate variation, frequency distribution of pulse number in unit time, pulse height variation, individual pulse profile combining pulse height and occurrence time, and statistics from the pulse number distribution. It is concluded that this anticipation system can be applied to nuclear facilities
