Abstract :
A considerable part of the current stock of residential buildings in Budapest was built at the end of the 19th and in the beginning of the 20th century (Figure 1). In the course of our research work a great many detailed technical and static expert reports on residential buildings in Budapest built in this time period were available. On the basis of these expert reports a database was created for the purpose of analysis of the structure of the buildings and of building diagnostics (Figure 2), and in order to prepare a fuzzy signautre-based status defining and ranking model. The database was created by processing a reliable set of data, which, in this way is a large representative pattern, the analysis whereof enables us to draw scientific conclusions. So far nobody has processed the expert reports from the scientific point of view, so no synthetised results were available to date.
