Abstract :
Organic photovoltaic solar cells based on the interpenetrated network of a conjugated polymer and fullerene derivative are presented. The structure and fabrication process are described in detail. Current-voltage characteristics and external quantum efficiency of preliminary organic solar cells are shown. Considering such a strikingly new research subject, the open circuit voltage of 0.57 V and short circuit current density around 25 μA·cm -2 are encouraging results. Finally, several factors which could limit photovoltaic conversion in these devices are discussed.
