Abstract
In this paper the nature of the contact resistance between two interlacing stainless steel yarns is analyzed. On the surface of stainless steel a thin passivation layer of Cr2O3 is always formed. The nonlinear electrical behavior of this contact can be explained by the oxide burnout mechanism.
