Abstract :
The formation conditions of metastable phases in proton exchanged lithium niobate and tantalate substrates were studied using waveguide layers fabricated for the control of optical parameters. The relaxation time of high temperature phases was estimated. The shift of the IR spectra peak, corresponding to OH-bond absorption was observed. The possible mechanisms of high temperature phase formation and decay are discussed in this article.
