Abstract
Summary form only given. A technique has recently been proposed to study the classical problem of Landau damping in a collisionless unmagnetized plasma (see V. Colombo et al., 1992). This technique is based on a time integral equation for the amplitude of the plasma density perturbation. In the present work the procedure is extended to magnetized Vlasov plasmas. For an electron plasma, the density perturbation due to an initial phase space perturbation obeys a specified integral equation. It has been shown that this equation can be solved analytically in simple cases or numerically in more general cases.
