Abstract :
The rapid growth of the mobile cellular telephone industry over the last few years has triggered an associated growth in wireless communications generally. This paper reviews the nature of the market, the key product focus areas and the opportunities for the competing high frequency semiconductor technologies, in particular GaAs.
