Abstract
In radio communication using a concealed microphone, the external acoustic noise, at a low signal-to-noise ratio (0... 3dB), disturbs the operation of a linear predictive vocoder. The operating irregularity of a vocoder is perceived as losses of articulation of the synthesized speech. The characteristics of acoustic noise depends on its place in a radio communication. The capability of acoustic noise can slowly vary during one communication session. One of the possible approaches to improvement of quality of the synthesized speech signal is to preprocess the signal before feeding it to the vocoder. In this report, an algorithm variant based on Wiener signal preprocessing, implemented on the basis of an adaptive filter, is offered.
