Abstract :
We propose an analysis of the susceptibility dynamic range and the passivity of a metasurface collimating the radiation of an electric dipole. The metasurface is mathematically synthesized for the case of zero reflection and the case of non-zero reflection. The longitudinal phase and polarization angle of both transmitted and reflected plane waves are varied to investigate the resulting dynamic range of the susceptibilities. We found that a trade-off exists between the passivity and the range of spatial variations of the metasurface.
