Abstract
In the paper a circuit implementation of two CMOS low voltage VCOs are presented. First of them is a charge-pump-based voltage-controlled multivibrator, using only CMOS inverters as main building blocks, and the second one is a CMOS resonant VCO. The paper investigates the effects of injection in the presented VCOs and makes a comparison of their parameters. The simulation and experimental results of the fabricated in 0.35 mum from AMIS technology voltage-controlled multivibrator, as well the simulation results of the resonant VCO with real foundry parameters of the 0.18 mum from UMC are also included.
