Abstract :
A Web based interactive tool on queuing theory is presented in the following. This application constitutes a thorough revision of an earlier version created for Windows; on the one hand, platform independence has been gained by the use of Java, enabling operation with a standard browser. Besides, improvements have been made on both the random variate generation, which is critical to the consistence of the results obtained, and the user interface. This application allows to devise the layout and simulate the performance of queuing models from a very general point of view; this material represents an alternative to traditional lectures and is conceived as a pedagogical complement for telecommunications engineering students.
