Title :
The Brownian bridge method - an alternative to importance sampling and a tool for the study of the spectral dynamics of PMD
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The Brownian bridge method is described along with its applications to the study of polarization mode dispersion (PMD) in fiber-optic systems. This method offers an alternative to importance sampling in numerical computations and it constitutes an extremely powerful tool in the study of the spectral statistics of PMD.
