Abstract :
An examination is made of the nature of groupware, the different approaches to its design, and its potential for integrating computer-based work. A definition is presented of a software system known as groupware. The three basic starting points discussed are: devices and tools, structured construction, and language action. Groupware as the base for integration is discussed.<>
