  • Abstract
    The paper presents an AC SPICE macromodel of voltage regulator and a design procedure for external components selection. The model is intended for one of the customer-driven linear regulators of ON Semiconductor Inc. It consists of ideal dependent sources (VCVS, VCCS, DC) and passive components. The model and the procedure decrease the time and the efforts for selecting the optimal values of the external components according to the specified output voltage and the load current. The validation of the macromodel presents perfect coincidence with the results from simulation of the complete transistor-level circuit and those from experimental measurement of silicon samples.
