Abstract
In this paper, a single-phase voltage-doubler with mismatched capacitors that converts a single-phase AC voltage to two balanced DC output voltages is proposed. It is based on a half-bridge rectifier and consists of two legs: one rectification leg to convert the AC voltage to DC output voltage and one neutral leg to split the DC output voltage into two balanced DC output voltages. Moreover, under the case with mismatched capacitors, the DC-bus voltage ripples can be significantly reduced compared to the ripples of the common singlephase half-bridge rectifier. The two legs can be independently controlled and the resulting high performance of the system is then achieved. Simulation results are provided to illustrate the excellent performance of the system.
