Abstract :
Collaboration and videoconferencing systems have become a very important application in the Internet. Any architecture that allows entities to coordinate and cooperate needs protocols to either avoid or resolve conflicts and their implications. This conflicts arising in collaborative activities of videoconferencing, are resolved by applying some control conference such as conference management, membership control and floor control. In this paper, we compare functions for conference control offered by SIP and H323 protocols. Then, we propose a distributed algorithm based on SIP in order to insure mutual exclusion for shared access.
