Abstract
The theory of rough sets, formal concept analysis and granular computing are important mathematical tool for data analysis and knowledge processing. In the paper, we propose the notion of information granules in information systems by combining the theory of rough sets and formal concept analysis. We show all the information granule forms a complete lattice in information systems, and we present the approaches to attribute reduction and rule acquisition for information granularity lattices. We also discuss the relationship between the attribute reducts of the information systems and the attribute reducts of the information granularity lattices that corresponding with the information systems.
