Abstract :
This paper presents modelling of a wind energy conversion systems (WECS) driven by an induction generator (IG) based on full-rated converter (FRC) at fundamental frequency. Each component initially is represented independently and then considered in a coupled description to obtain the overall WECS model. Simple coupled proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is competitively preferred than other complex-implementing control policies, which is augmented through an evolutionary algorithm (EA) termed as genetic algorithm (GA). Simulation results show the ability of the proposed strategy.
