Abstract
PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) are developing quickly for their outstanding advantages. Their potential cost which is highly linked to the configuration of PHEV, including components size and hybrid types. This study focuses on the impact of driving cycle, most daily trips demand, hybrid types and control patterns on the electric system. Based on series hybrid architecture, several vehicles were modeled, with an all-electric range from 30 to 50 kilometers on the various China typical city cycles and were then simulated under optimal control patterns on several combinations of cycle and distance to get a relationship among these factors.
