Abstract :
This paper presents the effect of the indoor environment in the UWB on-body radio channel. A measurement campaign was performed in the anechoic chamber and in an indoor environment for comparison. The propagation along the front part of the body and around the trunk are analyzed. Path loss model, time delay parameters and pulse fidelity are extracted from measured data. A statistical analysis on the root mean square (RMS) delay shows that Nakagami distribution is the best for modeling the propagation along the front part, while normal is the best for propagation around the trunk. Results have proven that the propagation around the trunk is less affected from the multipath effect.
