Abstract :
Southern California Edison´s Electric Vehicle Technical Center (EVTC), in cooperation with industry participants, conducted a test for the US Navy´s Seal Beach golf course to determine the energy savings possible due to improvements in technologies. Test protocols to evaluate the vehicle, battery, and charger systems were developed by the EVTC based on laboratory and real world experience and were incorporated into the new California Energy Commission Energy Efficiency Battery Charger System Test Procedure. As a significant result of this work, more efficient battery charging systems and vehicle drive systems will penetrate markets in California and be distributed in other Navy installations.
