Abstract :
The distribution of data and knowledge of a huge amount of cultural heritage and the desire to make them available readily to people, but heterogeneous natural of the databases of distributed digital museums gives rise to the challenge of semantic integration of them. In order to make this difficult task tractable, we describe how to derive ontologies from legacy relational databases and then construct one global ontology, and during our three step process, the cultural heritage domain ontology CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CRM) is deployed as a bridge ontology.
