Abstract :
The performance of a coherent communication system using direct-sequence spread-spectrum in specular multipath fading is analyzed in terms of average probability of error. Approximations to such are based on the characteristic-function method. The probability mass function of the correlation receiver output is also derived with this approach. Numerical results on the error probability are presented for various multipath environments with channel coding
