Abstract
Harmonic mitigation is one of the most important issues in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). This paper proposes a continuous wavelet-based active filter to mitigate the harmonics in the electrical torque of the induction motor drive caused by the application of multiple power electronic converters in HEVs. The basic theory and chief considerations on designing the proposed filter is discussed in detail. For verifying the proposed method, a numerical simulation is carried out to demonstrate the advantages and effectiveness of the proposed method. Further, the proposed filter is integrated with an induction motor drive system aiming to mitigate the harmonics in the electrical torque. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed filter.
