Abstract :
Transmission systems with span lengths averaging 112.3 km using ultra-low loss, large effective area fiber are used to demonstrate transmission of 20 PM-16QAM signals over more than 2,300 km and 20 PM-QPSK signals more than 14,400 km. For 40 channels, the 128 Gb/s PM-QPSK system has a reach more than 7,400 km with 3 dB margin over the FEC threshold.
