  • Abstract
We have demonstrated for the first time a post-processing technique using hydrogen loading and subsequent UV exposure to implement precise longitudinally-tailored acoustic property along a fiber for optimal SBS suppression. Local acoustic velocity can be modified by ~3%, leading to ~500MHz change in Brillouin frequency at ~1μm, equivalent to ~10dB SBS suppression.
