Abstract
The initial analysis of the data obtained from an extensive measurement campaign in Tokyo and Yokohama metropolitan areas are presented. Measurements were performed in non-line-of-sight (nLoS) macrocell scenario for which both vertically and horizontally polarized antennas were employed for transmitting and receiving signals. We are specifically interested to investigate the principal propagation mechanisms in such environments. This was done by obtaining the angular spread of the received signals in azimuth and elevation which was achieved by rotating a vertically deployed linear array at the mobile-terminal (MT). The propagation mechanisms were analyzed in respect to the orientation of the street where MT is located.
