Abstract
We demonstrate that the introduction of cognitive techniques in virtual topology design leads to significant savings in terms of the total cost of ownership compared to conventional methods. Case study results indicate that capital and operational expenditures can be respectively reduced by up to 20% and 25% via a genetic algorithm-based method.
