Abstract :
In order to research the effect of the layout and number of interphase composite spacer on iced transmission Line galloping, five nonlinear finite element analysis models of three-phase iced transmission Lines in quad bundle were developed. The dynamic responses of iced conductors subjected to aerodynamic loads were studied, and time history curves of vertical, horizontal and torsional vibration in the transmission Lines were obtained. The results show that the layout of two interphase composite spacers can not disturb the synchronization of galloping between each phase conductors and can not control galloping, the staggered arrangement of three interphase composite spacers not only disturb the synchronization of galloping between each phase conductors, but also have a certain inhibitory effect on the first, second, third and fourth-order galloping, having better effect on galloping control.
