Abstract :
We present a technique for the centralized monitoring of the true splice loss in branched fibres, even when G.652 and G.657 fibres are combined, using end-reflection-assisted Brillouin analysis. And we realize a splice loss accuracy of better than 0.1 dB in an 8-branched PON.
