Abstract :
A soft-switched DC/DC converter is proposed. The zero-voltage switching condition for all devices permits high-frequency operation with low switching loss. The simple control with constant-frequency operation and the small VAr ratings of the reactive components provide an economical system. The converter´s capability for both continuous and discontinuous mode operations, with low device voltage stresses, results in a wide load range. The converter is thought to be suitable for low-to-high-power applications with high efficiency. A detailed description of the mode operations, voltage conversion ratio, and load range of the proposed converter are described for a several kilowatt load range.<>
