Abstract
The authors provide an introduction to efforts aimed at designing products, processes, systems, and technologies with environmental objectives as a priority. They describe the efforts of the EPA´s (Environmental Protection Agency´s) design for the environment program in informing people and reducing obstacles to private-sector environmental design initiatives. The analytical tools used in this program are described, along with the program´s infrastructure projects
