  • Abstract
Applications of microwave power in industry and research are reviewed based on the authors´ experience from participation in projects and thematical workshops. This summary highlights successful branching of electromagnetic software tools and hardware design procedures from their classical telecommunications background into a diversified world of microwave processing of foods, chemicals, and minerals. The need and framework for interdisciplinary research in other areas, such as microwave-assisted sintering or mining, is also pointed out to attract the attention of MIKON participants.
