Abstract :
A polarization independent 2×2 switch based on silicon wire waveguide was fabricated. We built a diversity circuit consists of polarization splitters/combiners, TE-TM intersections, and TEand TMswitches. Polarization-independent operation was demonstrated. Extinction ratio achieved 30 dB at wavelength of 1550 nm.
