Abstract :
The molecular alignment and fragmentation dynamics in laser-induced Coulomb explosion of N/sub 2/ has been studied in pump-probe experiments using linearly and circularly polarized, 40 fs high-intensity (> 10/sup 15/ W/cm/sup 2/) Ti:sapphire laser pulses.
