Abstract
This paper presents experimental results of fade durations measurements in 20 microwave line-of-sight links in the frequency bands of 4 and 6 GHz for periods of one-year. Statistical analysis of the data provided cumulative distributions of fade depth and fade durations as well as the number of fades longer than 10 seconds for various attenuation thresholds. From the latter, an empirical method for predicting outage intensity due to multipath was derived.
