Abstract :
MIMO sonar that transmits orthogonal waveforms via transmitter sensors is an emerging technology that has significant application potential. Compared to standard phased array sonar, orthogonal transform waveform can bring many advantages including improved angular resolution and multi-target detection ability. We derive in this paper a novel binary-phase waveform design coded by Gold sequences. This phase code is computationally efficient compared to other codes previously proposed in the literature. We provide some numerical examples to demonstrate the performances of the new code sequence.
