Abstract
This paper proposes a synthetic method for the virtual face image based on the analysis of facial color in fearful emotion. First, the facial color under the emotional change in watching a horror video seized with fear is analyzed by using HSV (hue, saturation, value) color space. Secondly, we examine the relation between the change of facial color and the physiological index of facial skin temperature which indicates the change of blood flux under fearful emotion. On the basis of the result, we synthesize seven enhanced facial color images by using an average facial image of 68 females, and evaluate the effectiveness of these images through sensory evaluation by paired comparison and questionnaire.
