Abstract :
Adaptivity and context awareness are becoming more important in recent Web systems. We developed a prototype adaptive system called the "Personal Digital Librarian" (PDL). The PDL is a book recommendation and management system. The PDL user can obtain information on books appropriate to the user\´s interests. In addition, we have also improved the PDL to deliver book information appropriate to the context. Generally, the information that the user wants is different according to the context, such as location, time, etc. The PDL is built on a framework called "adaptation anywhere & anytime framework" (A3). The A3 provides systems, including the PDL, with adaptable functions
