  • Abstract
In order to investigate the performance of the high-speed electric spindle, the static and dynamic characteristics of the spindle are analyzed by using the finite element analysis method in this paper. For obtaining the static deformation and static stiffness of the spindle, static analysis of the spindle is carried out based on a simplified static analysis model through using the software of ANSYS. The natural frequencies and mode shapes of the electric spindle have also been obtained by using modal analysis method based on ANSYS. Furthermore, the influences of the spindle span on the natural frequencies of the electric spindle are studied in this paper. The results are shown that he finite element analysis method based on ANSYS is valid for the static and dynamic analysis.
