  • Abstract
Since July 2010 the ITER project is in the construction phase, yet a number of design activities are still to be completed. The management of these tasks, the coordination of the work in the ITER Parties, the resolution of the interface issues and control of the project configuration are thus the main responsibilities of the ITER Organization (IO) in the current phase. The paper analyses the challenges posed by specific technical and organizational features of ITER project to the integration of the design and the management of the procurement, and presents the processes that have been deployed to deal with them.
