Abstract :
To achieve the high numeric data processing speeds required of high-end DSP applications, the highly parallel arithmetic system called the residue number system (RNS) is considered. A machine with a high RNS content is being developed under the project name `Gauss machine.´ This system provides a foundation on which fast, reliable, and compact VLSI digital systems can be developed and tested. The Gauss machine consists of number of custom VLSI chips configured as a 3×3 array, interfaced to a host processor, and supported with a software applications library
