Abstract :
Maximum length sequences have been studied extensively and have been found applications in home acoustic measurement. Once the number of sources is higher than two, straightforward use of reciprocal m sequence pairs cannot meet the need of simultaneous impulse response measurement. A binary gold sequence can be generated by the addition module two of a preferred, or a reciprocal characteristic binary m sequence pair. In stepping tau point-by-point, 2n+1 gold sequences result to a finite set. The features of favorable correlation functions and of sufficient number in a set best qualify gold sequences for correlation impulse technique. Computer simulation results demonstrate the validity and the feasibility of the proposed method
