Abstract :
The virtual prototype model of an off-road vehicle was built based on ADAMS software and the user-written subroutine for calculating interaction force between elastic tire and soft soil is set up according to the load-sinkage theory. The non-linear contact simulation between elastic tire and soft soil was implemented successfully by using ADAMS software. The soft soil land can be adjustable by changing the soil related parameters, off-road vehicle dynamic was simulated on the random input running test. The simulation result shows that the body acceleration suspension dynamic deformation and tire dynamic load of the vehicle are all changed and the displacement of body in z-direction increases obviously as terrain deformation increases. The result also shows that the suspension adapted to the hard ground is not necessarily adapted to the soft soil road. This model can accurately simulation the soft soil road deformation as the impact of vehicle ride.
