Abstract :
A collection of slides from the author´s conference presentation is given. The following topics are discussed: the main mode of interference is out-of-band broadband noise and spurious emissions which fall within the victim receivers band; AeroMACS will need to provide additional filtering beyond the FCC emissions mask to ensure its out-of-band emissions below 2 GHz are less than-110 dBm/Hz; AeroMACS antenna will need to be separated from the VHF COM, L-DACS, Mode-S, TCAS and GPS antennas sufficiently far apart to provide between 70 dB and 75 dB of isolation; and Broadband noise levels emitted by Mode-S and TCAS transmissions may be too high to be mitigated by antenna separation alone.
