Abstract :
Presents a collection of slides covering the following topics: UPA concept: no escape maneuver by nonblundering aircraft; SAPA concept: escape maneuver by nonblundering aircraft; collision risk analysis; Monte Carlo simulation model; simulated nonescape case; results for straight-in approches, blunders anywhere on approach path; implication if blunder could occur anywhere on approach path; results for straight-in approaches, no blunders inside FAF; results for 3 degree offset approach; escape procedure pairability analysis; escape procedure abeam positioning analysis; runway separations enabling abeam positioning for escape maneuver procedure; analysis of wake encounter risk during blunders; wake encounter dimensions and parameters; wind fields; escape procedure wake encounter; visualization: potential escape procedure wake encounter during severe blunder; and surveillance requirement considerations.
