Abstract

A series of three intelligent power integrated modules for 0.4 to 1.5 kW AC-DC-AC inverted power conversion has been developed. Each of these is fabricated in one common and compact housing to produce a three-phase converter, a three-phase inverter using insulated-gate bipolar transistors, opto-couplers for input-to-output signal interfaces, and monolithic drive/protection logic. The internal architectures, functional and overall performance results, and the advantages of these smart controlling ´black boxes´ are presented.<>
